Security forces observed intensified al-Qaeda movement during the last few days as the militant group reportedly is preparing for attacks to take control over Mukalla city in the Hadramout governorate. Sources reported that the security forces that three leaders of al-Qaeda commanding 300 members are currently training in the Azzan and Maifa’a directorates of the Shabwa governorate. The sources also reported that they are preparing to simultaneously attack rescue forces, security apparatuses, and Mukalla’s port and oil facilities. The militants will also ambush the roads between Al-Rayan and Mukalla to prevent any military response by the government. When the attacks are completed al-Qaeda will announce Hadramout as an Islamic State, sources said.
