Government sources have reported that France and Germany have submitted a legal draft for Yemen’s new and future constitution. According to the sources, the two countries are working closely with the Ministry of Legal Affairs to complete the process of constructing a new constitution for Yemen.
President Hadi recently received a German delegation headed by the Minister of Justice and a constitutional law professor from Berlin University. The meetings with the German professor reportedly focused on aspects of dual cooperation between Yemen and Germany.
They also reportedly focused on the possibility of making use of the German federal electoral experience.
Meanwhile, a group of Yemeni scholars issued a statement declaring their opposition to any forms of interference by western states in the drafting of Yemen’s new constitution.
