Ahmed Obaid Bin-Daghr, Minister of Telecommunications and member of the National Dialogue Conference, stated that dialogue is Yemen’s only hope of moving forward. He told Al-Thawra newspaper that he believes a number of southern movement leaders will be convinced to join.
“There is no other place to solve the southern issue than the NDC,” Bin-Daghr said.
Contacting southern movement leaders is a matter for the contacting committee, he said.
Bin-Daghr also discussed Sa’ada as it relates to the NDC.
“No visions were presented regarding Sa’ada. There has been no discussion about the causes and consequences of that conflict. Houthis have no proposed a solution to the issue; if solutions are not presented within a short time, the results will not be good,” he said.
He urged participants to optimistic and to focus on the tasks ahead of them.
“If we dwell on the past, we will not enjoy any stability or security. Achieving justice is the only chance for a bright future.”
