Japanese Prime Minister Shinzu Abe attended a dinner reception on the occasion of Arab Day at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Tokyo on 15 April with the heads ofArab diplomatic missions in Japan and hte head of Arab communities to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Japan and Arab countries.
The Prime Minister thanked the Arab world for the support they provided during the earthquake. He ended his speech by calling on Arab countries to support the Tokyo city Olympic nomination and to vote for Tokyo.
Charge de Affair Tariq Mutahar, of the Yemeni Embassy, and Consular Hatem Mohammed Hatem were also present at the dinner, as was the Japan-Yemen friendship association (JYFA).
