On March 13th, President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi issued a presidential decree appoints Mohammed Ali Abdullah Marem as the chief of staff of Hadi’s office, instead of Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, who was captured by the Houthis earlier this year and then released in exchange for leaving Yemen and giving up his position.
After the decision of his dismissal, Bin Mubarak share a congratulation message with Marem for the new position. On his Facebook page, he said in that he trusts Marem, especially in this difficult situation faced by the institution of the presidency in general. “All of us everywhere will work together to achieve our dream of building a civil state based on partnership, justice and good governance,” he added.
Mohammed Ali Abdullah Marem holds a PhD in Finance and Banking from the University of Putra in Malaysia. He is a member of the National Supervisory Authority to implement the National Dialogue outputs, the head of state-building team in the National Dialogue outputs, lecturer in Banking and Finance Department in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Aden since 1999, the head of Accounts activities of Students Affairs at Aden University, 1998 – 2002, and the head of the Scientific Societies Department in Student Affairs at Aden University from 1997 – 1998.
