Yemen’s President Arrives In Saudi Arabia

President Hadi meets Defense Minister of Saudia Arabia Mohammed Bin Sulman

President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Thursday. Hadi flew to an airbase in Riyadh where he was met by Saudi Defense Minister Prince Mohammed, the son of King Salman, the official Saudi Press Agency reported.

His arrival came as warplanes struck military bases and anti-aircraft fire echoed over Yemen’s capital, Sana, a day after Saudi Arabia and other nations in the region launched attacks on the Houthi rebels who have seized the city.

President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi has asked Gulf countries for military intervention and asked the United Nations to set up a no-fly zone to shut down rebel-held airports that he claims are being used to fly in Iranian weapons. The question is how Arab nations might act: Experts say a ground operation would be a likely impossibly daunting task, but that airstrikes are an option
