New U.N. Envoy to Yemen Arrives In Sanaa

The new U.N. envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed arrived in the capital Sana’a on Tuesday, Saba news agency controlled by Houthi said, hours before a five-day truce was set to begin between Saudi coalition leading war in Yemen and Houthi militants backed by former president loyalists.

The Mauritanian diplomat is seeking  to bring Yemen’s feuding armed groups toward a political accord that could end fifty days of ground battles and Saudi-led bombing.
