YEMEN: Taiz, Aden And Al-Dhalea Face Aggressive Shelling

At least 20 people were killed in overnight battles and random shelling against the civilians in the largest inhabited population of Taiz city conducted by Houthi militants and former president military loyalists , residents and medical sources said on Sunday.

Plumes of smoke were seen billowing from a number buildings after catching fire from the shelling, but it remains unclear where it resulted in any casualties, local residents said.

The fighting in Taiz comes despite a five-day humanitarian truce which began on Tuesday to distribute aid to the millions deprived of food, fuel and medicine by weeks of fighting.

Some other fighting also took place in the cities of Aden and  al-Dhalea on Saturday night but there was no immediate information on casualties.
