The Government of Japan has decided to extend its humanitarian aid program to Yemen. The additional emergency grant aid worth’s US$ 2.4 million, and it will be distributed trough ICRC, IOM and UNHCR organizations to support internally displaced Yemenis.
The program is designed to help the Yemeni evacuees in Djibouti and Somalia, and evacuation programs for foreign nationals from Yemen. With this grant of aid, Japan is adding to the former contribution to Yemen through United Nations and other international organizations which reached approximately 40 million US Dollars since humanitarian crisis aggravated.
The Humanitarian assistance are allocated to areas like food security, health, hygiene, protection for vulnerable people and refugees.
