UN Special envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad met with representatives of clashing Yemeni parties in Muscat late Monday, to discuss an agreement on ending the war in Yemen.

The meeting with officials from Ansarullah movement and General People’s Congress discussed several topics, previously presented in the Jeddah meeting on security issues in the country, Ould Cheikh said in a press statement.

The envoy hoped resolution 2015 and the GCC initiative would end conflict in the war-torn country.

He added that the UN strongly supports lifting air ban on Sanaa’s International Airport and allow Yemeni citizens to move freely.(end) ahr.ag
