Saudi Destroys Two Houthi Boats, Kills Militia Fighters

Saudi channel Al Akhbariya has reported that the Saudi-led coalition forces have killed 52 members of the Republican Guard loyal to former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in the Waadi Al-Thaaban (the Snake Valley) area in the Najran region of Saudi Arabia.

Waadi Al-Thaaban is the valley that connects Yemen’s Sa’ada province to Saudi Arabia’s Najran province. Sa’ada is known to be the heartland of the Houthi movement.

The Saudi coalition has also announced that two boats belonging to Houthi militias have been destroyed. The boats were intercepted at the Mocha port, located in the Taiz province and were allegedly heading towards international waters via the Red Sea.

Yemen has been locked in a bitter battle between Shia Houthi militias allied with pro-Saleh forces and troops loyal to the government of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. The government forces are supported by local tribes and resistance fighters and backed by the Saudi-led coalition, which conducts air strikes against the rebels.
