The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sana’a organized a ceremony for Martyrs’ Day of Turkey. The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Mr.Fazil Corman and other political and military personalities gathered to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed their souls to protect the country.

Deputy Chief of Staff Mohamed Sharf delivered a speech in which he praised the Turkish leaders and people — especially Mustafa Kamal Atatürk, the father of the Turkish republic.

“Turkey and Yemen have had a good relationship for a long time represented by our shared Ottoman ancestry,” he added.

According to him, this day has a special meaning for the country and especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

After this, attendees took photographs of the occasion and headed for the residence of the ambassador.

It is worth mentioning that the Turkish martyrs’ memorial was first inaugurated last year during Turkish President Abdullah Gul’s historic visit to Yemen.
