A national human rights delegation left the Yemeni capital of Sana’a on Saturday for the trouble-torn province of Abyan. The objective of their trip is to broken the safe release the captured soldiers by Ansar al-Sharia, the Al-Qaeda offshoot in Yemen.
The Yemeni human rights organization Hood and al-Karama office called on the Yemeni government to stop the bombardment in the area so that the delegation can safely go in and carry out its humanitarian mission.
A source in the delegation said that the mission might last for three days and promised tha media outlets will be informed about the outcomes of the mission at a later time.
The delegation is comprised of two journalists—Ahmed al-Zaraka, and Tawfiq abdul-Wahab—and two human rights activists—Mosa al-Nimrani and Mohammed al-Ahmadi.
