Violent clashes took place at two 135th Armored Brigade military locations when gunmen attempted to take over a military camp in Dale’a governorate’s Al-Heed District. According to local sources, the gunmen may be affiliated with the Southern Movement.
Soldiers at the camp gave up their arms and surrendered after the gunmen fired on the camp. All weapons at the camp were reportedly seized by the gunmen.
“The soldiers were detained, but were released after a while,” said local sources.
The sources added that gunmen attempted to seize another military location in the governorate and also that clashes involving the use of heavy weapons broke out.
The clashes left one citizen injured. Electricity cables were also destroyed, leading to city-wide power cuts.
