U.S. Embassy suspends services

National Yemen

In a state of security alarm, the U.S. embassy has suspended its consular services. The embassy is still surrounded by security vehicles, which include hundreds of anti-riot Yemeni soldiers besides a number of U.S. marines who arrived in Sana’a last Thursday to secure the embassy.
In a statement, the embassy announced that its services would be suspended until further notice in anticipation of other attacks similar to the ones which took place on Thursday. It also warned U.S. citizens against approaching the embassy’s vicinity, with fears that further protests against the American movie would again turn violent.
The U.S. ambassador has transferred his residence to a secret location until the situation regains stability.
