On Monday, Yemen and Britain discussed issues related to the recently-held donor meeting in Riyadh and Friends of Yemen meeting in New York.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed Al-Sa’adi and British Deputy Ambassador to Yemen Sharon Wardle spoke about details of mechanisms to implement the Riyadh and New York meetings’ decisions, including a mutual accountability framework document between Yemen and donors.
Al-Sa’adi praised the British government’s keenness to support the Yemeni government in its efforts to meet the requirements of its transitional stage.
He added that he valued the role Britain had played at the Riyadh and New York meetings, both which were held in September.
Wardle reiterated Britain’s commitment to providing assistance to Yemen and praised actions thus far made under the framework of the Gulf Cooperative Council initiative.
