Information Minister Ali Al-Amrani was present for the launch ceremony for the first issue of the Marib Press daily newspaper. At the ceremony, Al-Amrani said the newspaper would be the “voice of Marib, a place so valuable to all Yemenis as it given us great leaders.”
According to Al-Amrani, his ministry has not rejected any requests for licenses and has never prosecuted members of the press, as, in his words, “Each individual is in charge of what he is saying.”
Editor-in-Chief Mohammed Al-Salehi said the newspaper staff would work hard to present high quality news by keeping pace with political, cultural, and sport events.
