The official office for the General People’s Congress (GPC) Party has stated that former president and current GPC head Ali Abdullah Saleh has decided to delay his plans to travel for a surgical operation until after the National Dialogue Conference has been held.
According to the office’s press release, Saleh will lead GPC representatives in the National Dialogue, as he is the party’s leader.
“All parties’ leaders should represent their parties in the dialogue so as to reach the best outcome,” stated the press release.
Meanwhile, the GPC’s General Committee is drafting a list of those who will represent the party at the National Dialogue.
The former president, along with other members of his party, has continued to receive medical treatment following the failed assassination attempt against him last year.
