The Ministry of Interior announced the seizure of Chinese and Belgian weapons in Hodeida province. The weapons, numbering about 40 in total, were seized from a vehicle at a checkpoint in Al-Qanawes, Hodeida.
Ministry official Saleh Al-Kamal said that security forces seized 32 Chinese made pistols and 7 Belgian weapons that were carefully hidden in the vehicle.
It was the third seizure of weapons in less than three months. Security sources say the weapons trade in Yemen is growing.
Yemeni authorities recently announced a list of weapons dealers that includes prominent tribal and military leaders, as well as the governor of Saada province.
