At an awards ceremony held this past Wednesday at Sana’a’s Bustan Hotel, Emirates Airlines recognized 24 Yemeni travel and tourism agencies for their great efforts and top selling record for the year 2012.
Among the three top companies were twenty agencies from Sana’a, one from Aden, and one from Hodeida. Earning Sana’a’s top position was the Universal Travelling&Touring Company, followed by Al-Murjan Travel and Falcon for Travelling&Tourism CO. Ltd.
From Aden, Grand Agency was selected. For Hodeidah, Al-Muneer for Travelling received the first place award.
During the ceremony, Emirates Airlines Regional Manager Saed Al-Janahi spoke of the importance of collaborative work in providing customers with the best possible service and flying experience.
Emirates Airlines, which has operated in Yemen for the past 16 years, has escalated biweekly flights from Dubai to Sana’a to a daily travelling schedule between the two cities.
The UAE government owned airline is the largest operator of Boeing 777s and Airbus A380 in the world. Al-Janahi said that the company’s 190 planes fly to 75 countries, with over 129 destinations.
The activation of additional routes to Japan, Warsaw, Poland and Algeria were also announced.
Some of the awards that have been granted to Emirates Airlines include the Gold Airline of the Year, Best International Airline, and Best Passenger and Loyalty Programme.
