Official sources have reported that the two lines of electricity cables linking Sana’a and Marib were subjected to a new attack on Friday morning in Al-Damashqa directorate.
According to engineer Abdurrahman Saif Aqlan, the General Manager of the Electricity Institution stated that the sabotage attack caused the Marib gas station to stop functioning.
“The Electricity Institution ordered a technical team to go to the directorate to urgently fix the destroyed cables. The station will be resume operations on Saturday,” said Aqlan.
Aqlan called on all Yemenis to stand by the Electricity Institution in protecting electricity cables and any public services.
Optic cable lines in Marib were also attacked, slowing the country’s internet over the past days.
