On 9 May, the Social Services Association held a workshop for the representatives of Peace Generations in Aden. It was supported by the Generations for Peace International group and included 40 Adenis. Aden Governor Ahmed Al-Dhalai praised the country’s youth and told the audience that as long as there are conscientious, educated and confident youth, the country would be okay. The purpose of the workshop, according to Social Service Center Chairwoman Rasina Yassin, is to demonstrate the importance of volunteer work.
Program Coordinator Salwa Abdulwahed said that the representatives focused on refugees and displaced people. There will soon be a Sports for Peace program aimed at integrated displaced and refugee children. Another workshop, Dialogue for Peace, is aimed at young people from different parties. It aims to promote dialogue and discussion among youth.
The workshop will focus on three areas: strengthening and developing the skills of youth in the area of peace-keeping; using different tools to spread the message of peace, focusing on sports and dialogue; and coming up with a working plan for the Generations program, Peace in Eden.
