President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi just concluded a three day visit to Washington D.C., where he met with American President Barack Obama as well as a number of members of the United States Congress. President Obama praised Hadi for Yemen’s stability through the National Dialogue process, and the two presidents discussed areas of mutual cooperation in the promotion of peace and Yemen’s further stable development. Hadi also discussed repatriation of Yemeni detainees in Guantanamo with the President Obama and other US officials, although no concrete plan for this repatriation was reached.
Following his three-day visit to the US capital, President Hadi has flown to Saudi Arabia, where he met with King Abdullah for talks in the al-Safah Palace. The talks focused on relations between Yemen and the Kingdom. President Hadi also informed King Abdullah of new developments in Yemen’s political process under the GCC initiative.
Following his official meetings, Hadi took the opportunity to do Umrah in Bait Allah, Mecca, as seen in this picture.
