A Kurdish student from Erbil has been killed in Yemen after joining an Islamic militant group.
The young man had traveled to Yemen to finish his university studies as an exchange students, and had become part of a radical Islamic group while there.
He was killed about a month ago during clashes with local security forces.
This is an isolated occurrence, as no other Kurds are reported to have joint radical groups in Yemen. The young man worked at a medical clinic in Erbil, but obtained leave in order to go to Yemen and study.
