Thanks to Facebook, Happy End to Chaos during Royal Jordanian Flight

National Yemen

By NY Staff

National Yemen Staff – Passengers flying on Royal Jordanian flight No. 672 last Friday between Sana’a and Amman were dismayed and frightened by misconduct by a group of young passengers. They were later identified as members of the Presidential Security. Many of them were drunk and lost consciousness a few minutes after the plane took off.

After more than an hour of flight, they continued to make noise. The air hostesses were trying to calm the situation, but with no luck. It was not controlled until a few fist-fights occurred with intervening flight security, supported by passengers, which also threatened to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.

In reaction to a Facebook post made by a local journalist who happened to be on the fight, the commander of the presidential guard investigated the situation and ordered the immediate imprisonment of these soldiers. Due to the fact that these soldiers were on an official mission in Jordan, the commander decided to release them from their duties as part of the disciplinary action.
