The U.S President Barack Obama hailed on Friday the existing partnership between the U.S. and Yemen in the counter-terrorism field.
“Look at a country like Yemen. It is very poor country and has many divisions. Despite that, we have in this country a serious and active partner, it is President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and his government”, said President Obama in a press conference held in Washington, in which he dealt with the developments in Iraq and Syria.
He added: “We have been able to contribute to developing the capacities of the country in the fight against terrorism without sending large numbers of American troops to the territory of Yemen.”
President Obama pointed out that his country has sufficient capacity to combat terrorism, and it can hunt down those who are trying to target its embassy or seeking to export terrorism to Europe and the United States.
He considered the U.S.- Yemeni partnership in the fight against terrorism typical, highly valuing the commitment of President Hadi and the Yemeni government to combating terror and the successes that have been achieved in this aspect.
