President Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi paid a surprise visit to the city of Amran to inspect the city and to announce $5 billion riyals for the reconstruction the town facilities that were affected by the recent clashes.
During his visit, he inspected the progress of efforts to re-normalize the situation in the city and addresses the effects of armed confrontations in Amran.
The President and his entourage toured the city and were briefed on the size of the destruction of many of the government facilities as well as public and private enterprises as a result of these confrontations. He also visited the headquarters of the Sixth Military Area Command and the Ninth Brigade, where he was received by the commander of the Military Region Major General Mohammed al- Hawri and senior officers and members of the camp.
Hadi was accompanied in his visit by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Dager, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Electricity Abdullah Mohsen al-Akwa, Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Ahmed Qasem al-Ansi, the Minister of Public Works and Highways Eng. Amr Abdullah Alkrchmi, the Governor of the Amran province Mohammed Shamlan, General Secretary of the Local Council Saleh Makhlos, and Director of the Presidency Office Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak.
