National Yemen Editor-in-Chief Fakhri al-Arashi was invited to mark the official launch of 1Malaysia Year End Sale (1MYES) in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 15th, 2014. Two more talented Yemeni youth Mohammed al-Rawaishan and Abdulaziz al-Massabi were among the 277 participants of Tourism Malaysia’s Mega Fam Programme, who are comprised of international media and travel agents from 26 countries around the world.
The 1MYES will last until January 4, 2015, offering the best in shopping, dining and recreation throughout Malaysia. The highlight of this year’s festival is the nationwide sale, which offers in–store surprises and gifts, deals, and discounts.
“The 1MYES is one of the three major sale campaigns in Malaysia, besides the 1Malaysia Grand Prix sale in March and the 1Malaysia Mega sale Carnival from June to September,” said Azizan Norrdin, Deputy Director General of 1MYES.
“The country is all geared up for a year of endless celebrations under a new national campaign, which is a prelude to the upcoming year of festivals,” he continued.
We are looking to achieve the target of 29.4 million tourist arrivals and RM89 billion in tourist receipts for 2015. The festival was officially kicked off at the National Visual Arts Gallery in Kuala Lumpur in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia Dato’ Maznah Mazlan. The Juala Lumpur Fashion Weekend was also held to show the work of renowned fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes.
According to Tourism Malaysia, the Brunei media delegates will get the chance to explore the shopping scene in Johor Bahru, which is popular for its Johor Bahru Premium Outlets and the Johor Bahru City Square.
