Yemeni artist Murad Sawbai’a has received the 2014 Art Prize Peace on November 14th. The ceremony was held by the Veronese Organization in Milan, Italy, on the sidelines of the Sixth World Congress for Peace.
The Art Prize for Peace is awarded to artists who show a commitment to the culture of peace throughout the world.
Sawbai’a is a Yemeni artist, 27 years old, with professional experience in modern drawing and painting. He is one of the most famous for launching campaigns of graffiti murals in Yemen, which has found widespread popular reaction.
His artistic skill became famous during the Youth Revolution of 2011, where he was one of the most important founders of the marches and demonstrations in Change Square.
