The General Secretariat of Hossam Charitable and Development Foundation for Handicapped based in Sana’a, Abdulrahman al-Haidary, signed the past week with German Ambassador Walter HaBmann, the agreement of providing some medical equipment for the foundation. The logistic support from the German embassy was focused on purchasing physiotherapy equipment for the Handicapped members of the foundation.
Forty handicapped people mostly young girls and women are living in the foundation’s rented building and they receive complete health care, education and nutrition with in the foundation. Al-Haidary appreciated the German support and he revealed the upcoming donation from other international organization and embassies.
“The absorptive capacity of the foundation is limited and we are working to receive more handicapped mainly from the marginalized poor women,” he said. The foundation was established in 2013 through the self-support of the members of the foundation who created this initiative to help the poor women and the forgotten girls. “The operation cost is extremely modest and we are seeking the help of other Yemeni businessmen and local and international associations,” he added.
The support of the German Embassy is a strategy for grabbing the attention of others to follow good examples. “On behalf of Hossam Foundation I would like to send my great appreciation to the German Ambassador for his kind gesture,” he concluded.
