December 6th, the Korean Embassy and the KOICA Association of Alumni and Friends in Yemen (KAAFY) celebrated Korean Lovers’ Day 2014 in al Bustan hotel in Sana’a.
Lee Young-ho, the South Korean Ambassador to Yemen, confirmed that his country as a member of Friends of Yemen Group participates in the international community efforts to assist Yemen to achieve political stability and economic development and it will continue its support for Yemen.
“The Yemeni-Korean cooperation relations are growing and expanding in several areas such as scholarships and training programs and rehabilitation of the Yemeni cadres as part of a cultural exchange between the two countries,” Korean ambassador stated.
Kadijah al-Nuira, KAAFY Secretary, said that the aim of KAAFY is to contribute to enhancing and building cultural and economic relations between Yemen and Korea. “We are offering the necessary suggestions to KOICA to promote development projects and expand support to Yemen.”
In the opening ceremony, the CEO of Natco Company, Fathi Abdulwase praised the distinction and uniqueness of the South Korean embassy by holding a ceremony for Korea fans through a review of documentaries, movies, music and Korean heritage, in addition to tasting Korean food. “The world is following with admiration the growth of the Korean economy and Korean products with its quality and innovation in every Yemeni house.”
Such events and activities aimed at learning about Korean culture and introducing the Yemeni public to it in order to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
