Last week, the Tourism Minister Moammar Al-Eryani gave the Giveness Shield in the field of tourism to Dr. Mohammed Abdullah al-Sabahi, the chairman of Arab Board for Information Technology and Leadership Training and Vice President of the University of the Arab Peoples.
Minister Al-Eryani confirmed the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors, and the spread of tourism among all segments of society, considering it an integral part of the national culture.
“Tourism is considered a useful national economic resource in Yemen if the situation of the country was better,” he said.
Al-Eryani explained that the Ministry of Tourism, with a number of local banks and the General Authority for Mail, work to provide the best offers within the “travel and then pay” program, under the under the slogan “Know Your Country” through giving concessional loans to employees of government and private sectors to revive domestic tourism and the labor market in the government and private sectors.
Dr. al-Sabahi said that during the course, which was held in Ibb province, they hired Ethiopian experts to train the trainees. “The course focused on eight programs, all aimed to improve the Yemeni workforce to fit the work market at the local and regional level,” he stated.
Dr. al-Sabahi pointed out that targeting Ibb province came within the plan of the Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Promotion Board to revive tourism by announcing it a capital of tourism.
