Last week, the Islamic Relief Organization in Yemen (IRY), concluded the first phase of their Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques campaign for immediate relief.
The campaign included seven provinces and continued for two weeks, and food aid was distributed to more than 15,000 families.
The beneficiary families were selected according to field surveys conducted by IRY staff using Social Security lists filtered and updated by direct visits to the targeted areas. Food baskets included different kinds of food in order to meet the needs of an average family for a whole month.
IRY is one of three international aid organizations that are responsible for distributing aid to nearly a quarter million Yemeni citizens in coordination with local organizations and local authorities.
