Famine in Yemen is Crippling Children, Says UN

Millions of people in war-torn Yemen are starving, including children who will be “crippled for life”, the United Nations food agency has warned, as photographs from the areas hardest hit by the conflict emerged showing emaciated teenagers dying from hunger.

Yemen now has one of the highest malnutrition rates in the worlds, the UN World Food Programme said yesterday. More than 14 million people are going hungry, half of them starving. At least 10 of country’s 21 governorates are close to being declared in famine.
