Yemeni President Visits Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi visited on Sunday the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, SZGM, in Abu Dhabi, as part of his official visit to the UAE.

President Hadi visited the mausoleum of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which is adjacent to the mosque, read Surat Al Fatiha for the departed soul and recalled his qualities and wise approach of enriching the culture of tolerance and peaceful co-existence among different nations of the world.

He toured the mosque and was briefed by Yousif Al Obaidly, SZGM Director-General, about the history, components, and the various architectural styles that have been used in its construction.

At the end of the visit, President Hadi was presented a copy of the book Spaces of Light, one of the publications of the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, which includes a number of shots and pictures on the ‘Spaces of Light Photography’, organised by the centre annually, and highlights the aesthetics of Islamic architecture in the mosque.
